Like with many Red Sea towns, Marsa Alam is characterized by sandy beaches and abundant coral reefs, but aside from these typical Red Sea features this coastal town is home to a wide array of underwater and land-based species.
Perhaps one of the most famous places in Marsa Alam is Abu Dabbab Beach. Abu Dabbab Beach is known to showcase dugongs, sea turtles, crocodile fish, and octopuses. Wadi el-Gemal National Park is also a mandatory stop.
