Overview
Itinerary

Located 30 km south of Cairo, this excursion is divided into two parts: first, you will visit the Necropolis of Sakkara, a complex declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The highlight of this part of the visit is the funerary complex of King Djoser and his Step Pyramid. The latter is the first-ever large scale, stone cut structure built in the world and symbolizes the evolution of the pyramidal construction. Secondly, we will visit the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of Egypt around 3100 B.C. Here you will learn about the wonders of Mit Rahina, an outdoor museum in which the highlights are the giant statue of Ramses II, carved out of limestone, and the alabaster Sphinx, a majestic sculpture 10 meters’ high which remains intact till this day.
